Shotgun Fundamentals

Course Description: In this introductory course, students will learn to safely manipulate a shotgun, as well as the fundamentals of marksmanship as they apply to shotgunning.
Learning Outcomes: By completing this course, students will be able to:
- Demonstrate safe handling of the shotgun during a course of fire
- Adopt a standard position to deliver accurate fire upon a target
- Deliver accurate fire under time and magazine capacity constraints

Target audiences
- PAL holders with a shotgun.
Requirements
- A valid PAL (Possession and Acquisition License).
- Your shotgun, with approximately 400 rounds of ammunition and at least 1 magazine, if your shotgun has detachable mags. One can never have too many magazines. However one can easily lack the capacity to store and transport them with the required care and attention if one has too many! If your shotgun does not have detachable magazines, don't fret, this course is for any kind of shotgun, whether semi-automatic, pump, lever, or break action.
- Eye and ear protection.
- Basic hand-eye coordination.
- A learning attitude.
- Your lunch and drinks for the day. Zero tolerance for drugs or alcohol on premises or during firearm handling.
- Weather-appropriate clothing.
- Summertime: bug repellent of your choice.
